Nurturing a new peaceful addition to the home

I realized that it might be nice attempting to get a bread of house plant that I might be able to take care of. I found a small orchid at the pharmacy for about $12.00 and I bought a pot for house plants for $4.00 at the dollar store. The bag of potting soil I got from the dollar store for $3.50 had the instructions on the back of it for potting a grown plant. I read the instructions and potted the plant. I've seen in instructionals online and also from other people that orchids can be hard to make bloom but the leaves themselves are just as nice to have as a plant. The instructions on the orchid said to water every so often maybe once a week or so but it also required some plant food. I got some at the dollar store in a small container for $5.00. I mixed the plant food with water just like the instructions said to measure out and watered it during the second week. after about a month or two of watering and keeping the plant near sunlight, the original blooms had fallen off but I had noticed the leaves were still very green and luscious and a new leaf was sprouting from the center of the plant. At this point, it had been years since I had tried caring for my very own house plant but it was looking very promising and the thought of caring for a house plant was not as daunting anymore.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

After university, for a medical course studying the nervous system, I ended up being bedridden in a manageable but life-changing hospital situation. I found myself needing to leave my busy life and appreciate taking time out to do the things I love like reading and writing. I learned to appreciate these things and came across the situation where I would love to blog about the small things that can make your day that much brighter especially when you take the time out for them.
