Relieving tension in a cozy comfortable spot

I realized recently that I seem to often amount a lot of ambition to set reading as a task that should be set with a sense of self discipline and focus. Although, this is very helpful at times I hear it is common to use a book in order to relieve yourself of the days burdens and hardships. I thought to myself that perhaps I’ll take a more relaxing approach to reading. I hear when one wakes up in the morning or gets ready for bed that those moments before you face the day or settle for bed can be nice. I had never actually taken the time to see if this suites me as of recent. I decided to do that the following night, while I made a cup of tea, I set my lamp to subtle lower lighting and picked up my book and crawled into bed with it. The evening appeared to be a good time to set reading a book as it was far more silent in the home. I set a timer on my phone for 15 min as I sat up with my read and then I began reading. The surroundings with a book as I slowly read were much more cozy and comfortable then the bustling time in the afternoon when people were the most busy during the day. I noticed I felt tension in my mind and body slowly relax. I could very well leave in my imagination and enjoy the time reading. I sipped my tea and I realized the time I was spending reading till felt very dedicated to the task as I soaked up every moment in the book. I felt engaged and also very comfortable and relaxed as I didn’t have to worry about distractions as well. As my timer went off I felt as if I had taken the time to fully enjoy my read. If I had gone out I may have not actually have felt the comfort of feeing fully emmersed in my task and enjoyed the time. It was an evening well spent.
