Visiting a bright city spot to relax

I have tried numerous times in the open city areas to pull out my kobo or book wondering where would be the most productive or relaxing. I've tried my luck at the mall or a MacDonalds but I've had the hardest time settling in. I've heard a lot about making a call or browsing through text at a Starbucks but wondered what the experience would be with a quiet book. I entered the Starbucks and noticed the public there was far less busy or loud. there was a mild ambiance of conversation and movement, unlike Macdonalds which would have loud laughter or families trying to settle in. I bought a medium coffee with a chocolate danish which came up to a little over $8.00 for both. I sat down at the small tables near the doorway and pulled out my kobo. When I began reading my Kobo I noticed the productivity in Starbucks was still very mild with people either on their laptops or tablets or perhaps taking notes with some company nearby. There was music that relatively matched the volume of the movement of people in the coffee shop and I noticed it never got much louder than this. I never finished my coffee after about 15 to 20 min of reading but I was able to take it with me. I did on the other hand finish my Danish. I packed up and not only was the coffee a pleasure to drink but the Danish was very delicious I never thought I would go a full round of reading undisturbed and I was very satisfied. It was a great location to stop by if you were in the middle of the city needing a peaceful stop.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

After university, for a medical course studying the nervous system, I ended up being bedridden in a manageable but life-changing hospital situation. I found myself needing to leave my busy life and appreciate taking time out to do the things I love like reading and writing. I learned to appreciate these things and came across the situation where I would love to blog about the small things that can make your day that much brighter especially when you take the time out for them.
